Zionism When the Jews went back to there homeland, Canan.
Anti-semitism Being against the Jews when they were in Israel.
Holocaust A mass killing of Jews during WW2. (genocide)
Colonization When people come and colonize a land and settle there. Mainly europeans only colonized there.
Civil war A war between its own country. In africa there were many of these.
Ottoman Empire A large empire that loss all power after WW1.
Nationalism A strong passion and loyalty to your country. Like what the chinesse people have.
Independence When a country gets to have there own nation. Like when the French left India.
Chiang Kai-shek Leader of the nationalist party before Mao Zedong took over.
Mao Zedong The leader of China during the Culture Revolution.
Kuomintang Nationalist party of China when Chiang Kai-shek had power.
Communism When the country's government has full control of what the laws can be.
Great Leap Forward A attempt to improve and increase farming. But the people had little motivation and a mass famine spread throught China.
Cultural Revolution To destroy anthing that encouagred difference in the country.
Tianamen Square When collage students and other young people went to protest against the government but then the they killed thousands of people.
