TermDefinition
Zionism A movement created by Jews to have their own state in Palestine.
Anti-semitism The hatred of Jews.
Holocaust The killing of millions of Jews(genocide) during WWII.
Colonization Colonizing regions for its natural resources.
Civil War War in which two of the same country, religion,or ethnic groups go to war with each other.
Ottoman Empire An empire ruled form 400BC to the end of WWII.This empire joined Germany and its other allies and lost WWII and was forced to give up their land.
Nationalism The feeling of strong loyality for ones country
Independence To rule your own country and not have any other country rule your country.
Chaing Kai Sheik The leader of the Nationilist party.
Mao Zedong Communist leader of China. Started the Great Leap Foward.
Kuommintang The form of Nationalist Party
Communism Government and economy in which the government controls everything with little freedoms.
Great Leap Foward Mao Zedong lead this period of time in which he tried to "modernize" China. It was more like a Great Leap Foward.
Cultural Revolution Lead by Mao Zedong to elimanite the Four "olds" and all people who did not agree with communism.
Tianamen Square Students protested for more personal freedoms. Many students were shot, killed, or arrested.
