TermDefinition
Zionism The movement of the jews to return to their home land, and were sucessful after WW 2 and got their new home land in present day Isreal.
Anti-semitism When People are against the jews, for example many people were Anti-Semitist who didnt want the jews to have a home land
Holocaust A attempt on genocide towards the jews, this was ocurred during WW . Aldof Hitler lead the part, however was not sucessful ( did wipe out many jews but not all)
Colonization When one country takes over another in order to gain resources, for example France once had control of present day Vietnam
Civil war Many Civil wars happened in Africa because of the goverment dissagrements.
Ottaman Empire A large empire that joined the losing side during world war 2, and they were split up.
Nationalism The pride for ones country, and example would be South Koreans fighting to protect their land no matter what
Independence Many countries like Vietman fought for independece when countries colized them
Chiang Kai- Shek Nationalist leader in china who was forced out of the country by Mao Zedong
Mao Zedong Communist Leader in China who wanted to make China a full on communist country.
kuomintang The first Nationalist party in China before Mao Zedong forced them out.
Communism A form of goverment where everyone is equal in terms of money and living standers.
Great Leap Foward To improve the Industrial side of china, however it ended up in complete failure
Cultural Revolution A act By Mao Zedong to eliminated all of the four olds.
Tiananmen Square An icident in China when students and others help an uprising for more pearsonal and political freedoms,and to raise their statue to show freedoom. However the chinease army opened fire killing many and wounding thousands.
