Chapter 13 Religions

QuestionAnswer
When and where did Judaism start, and who founded it? It was formed around 2,000 B.C. and it originated in Canaan. Abraham is generally raken as the founder of Judaism.
What is the main sacred text or holy book of Judaism, and what books make it up? The Torah, which is comprised of the first five books of the Old Testament of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
Do Jews believe that Jesus Christ was the Son of God? No, they don't believe that He is the Son of God, and because of this, they use B.C.E. instead of B.C. because it means before common era, instead of before Christ.
What is the symbol of 2 overlapping triangles mean, and what is it called? It's called the Star of David, and some Jews believe that the 6 points represent God's rule over the universe in all directions: North, South, East, West, up and down. Others think one triangle symbolizes God and the other overlapping one represents Jews.
