| Militarism | The build-up of a nation's armed forces (a policy of glorifying military power and keeping a standing army always ready for war.) |
| Nationalism | The belief that people should be loyal mainly to their nation rather than to a king or empire |
| Imperialism | A policy in which a strong nation seeks to dominate other countries politically, economicaly, or socially |
| Rationing | Limiting of the amount of goods people can buy |
| Fourteen Points | President Woodrow Wilson's fourteen goals for the United States in the peace negotiations after World War I |
| Propaganda | information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc. |
