What is a Type I error Alpha error - Stating there is a difference when there isn't one
what is "p" the probability of making a type I error (usually <.05)
What is a Type II error Beta error - Stating that there is not a difference when there actually is one.
What is power (1-Beta) - probability of rejecting null hypothesis when it is in fact false, or the likelihood of finding a difference if one actually exists.
what is accuracy? How centered they are to the bulls-eye
What is precision? How close they are to each other
what is random error? reduced precision in a test
what is Systematic error? reduced accuracy in a test
What do you use the t-test for Checks the difference between the MEANS of 2 groups
What do you use ANOVA for? Checks the difference between the MEANS of 3 of more groups
What is the Chi-square test used for? Checks the difference between 2 or more percentages or proportions of categorical outcomes (not mean values)
