EDICT OF MILAN Allowed Christians to practice their faith openly in the Roman Empire. Was establish in 313 by Constantine. In the late 4th century Theodosius made Christianity the offical religion of Rome.
XIONGNU
HAN WUDI Han Wudi was the emperor of China who sent Zhang Qian as an embassador to obtain information on the Xiongnu.
MONOSOON SYSTEM (OR MONSOON WINDS) The winds that governed sailing and shipping in the Indian Ocean. In the summer: winds blew from the SE. In the winter: winds blew from the NE. The understanding of this system helped trade GREATLY.
SILK ROAD The trading route located in Asia that extended from the Han capital of Chang'an, through the Talamakan desert, and ended in the Mediteranean port of Antioch (Mondern day Turkey.
NESTORIAN CHRISTIANITY Emphasized the human nature opposed to the divine nature of Jesus. Nestorians followed the Greek theologian Nestorius.
MACNICHAEISM This religion came from the prophet Mani. It was influenced by Zoroastrianism, Christianity, and Buddhism. The religion promoted an ascetic lifestyle; "the elect" would abstain from ANY person comfort.
