Constantine The son of Diocletain's coruler Constantius. Ordered construction of a new capital city, Constantinople, which overlooks Bosporus.
Diocletian Born in 245 a.d. and died in 316 a.d., Diocletian was a Illyrian soldier who ruled as emperor of Rome from 284 a.d. to 305 a.d.
Dualism Denotes a state of two parts. Was originally coined to denote co-eternal binary opposition, a meaning that is preserved in metaphysical and philosophical duality discourse but has been diluted in general or common usages.
Edict of Milan Document signed in February 313, by Constantine I and Licinius met in Milan and, among other things, agreed to treat the Christians benevolently.
Han Wudi The seventh emperor of the Han Dynasty of China, ruling as such for 54 years, from 141 BC to 87 BCE. Promoted Confucian doctrines and is known for his religious innovations and patronage of the poetic and musical arts.
Manichaeism A major gnostic religion, originating in Sassanid era Babylonia. Most of the original writings have been lost, numerous translations and fragmentary texts have survived.
