what law keeps you safe from being sued if you help an injured person correctly? THE GOOD SAMARITAN LAW...this keeps you from getting in leagal trouble if you help an injured person with the skills not out of your education
what are the 2 types of consent to know if a person needs help? EXPRESSED CONSENT...the person can communicate with you verbally...IMPLIED CONSENT...an unconious person assumed to need help
do you have to get permission from a childs parent to help the child? YES...you do need permission from a parent to care for a child
what to do if the parent says no to helping the child? DO NOT TOUCH THE CHILD...call 911 asap and stay near
what if you are afraid of catching a disease? ALWAYS HAVE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUITMENT...such as gloves mask and extra clothing
what about bodily fluids? avoid any contact with any bodily fluids to your skin...keep your face away from the bodily fluids...also keep all bodily fluids away from open wounds and mouth
what do you do with ALL bio-hazards? DISPOSE... put all bio hazards in a bio hazard container...make your own...use 2 ziplock bags inside each other
what is indirect contact? AIRBORNE...can be passed through cough sneeze and yawn
what is the quickest way for any contact to get in your body? MOUTH...NOSE...AND EYES
what are the 3 emergency steps in order? CHECK...CALL...CARE
what are the 3 p's? perserve life...prevent further injury...promote recovery
when would you NOT follow the action steps in order? DO NIOT FOLLOW THE STEPS IN ORDER IF THE PERSON IS...not able to wait for care
how do you gain expressed consent? you tell them your name and that you are trained...then ask if they can look at you or do something to tel you they give you permission to help them
