Culture refers to a society's knowledge, art, beliefs, customs, and values.
Artifacts objects that people in the past made or used.
Paleolithic Era The old stone age.
Nomads People that move from place to place.
Neolithic Era The new stone age.
Neolithic Revoloution The development of agriculture and the shift to farming.
Domestication The selective growing or breeding of animals or plants to make them more useful for humans.
Pastoralists People who ranged over wide areas and kept herds of livestock on which they depended for food and other items.
Megaliths huge stones; for burial or spiritual purposes.
Surplus an excess of food or other items
Traditional economy Where economic descisons are made based on custom, tradition, or ritual.
division of labor An economic arrangement where each worker specializes in a particular task or job.
Civilization A complex and organized society.
The Bronze Age. When people began to make items out of bronze.
Artisans Skilled Craftspeople.
Cultural Diffusion The spread of ideas, beliefs, customs, and technology from one culture to another.
animism A belief that all thinigs in nature have a spirit.
Hunter- Gatherers People who hunt and gather from nature to survive.
hominid Humans and early humanlike beings that walked upright.
Domestic tasks cooking, and making crafts.
