Reign of Terror A time when executions and war was constant, (killed any one disloyal to the revolution that may bring back the monarchy)
Directory A five-person counsel
Coup d' Etat Swift seizure of the government
Napoleonic Code A new legal system based on Enlightenment ideas, (created by Napoleon)
Estates-General An assembly made up of representatives from all three estates
