| Communism | An economic system believing in public ownership of all business and property in order to create a classless society where all people are equal in terms of wealth and education |
| Fascism | A one party dictatorship that controls every aspect of life but is NOT COMMUNIST |
| Humanitarianism | A commitment to help other people |
| Imperialism | One country dominating the political, economic, or cultural life of another country or region |
| Isolationism | Foreign policy where a country chooses to stay out of world affairs |
| Mercantilism | Economic system where the government controls trade and gains wealth through acquiring more and more gold and silver |
| Militarism | Policy that glorifies war and views traditional warfare as romantic |
| Nationalism | Extreme pride for one’s country or way of life, caused people in the 19th century to seek independence from empires |
| Nazism | One party dictatorship that controls every aspect of life, is NOT COMMUNIST, and believes in religious intolerance of Jewish people |
| Social Darwinism | Belief that non-Europeans were poor and “uncivilized” because they were not as fit or intelligent as Europeans. |
