QuestionAnswer
Internalization- Process by which a norm becomes a part of an individuals personality.
Sanctions- Rewards or punishments used to enforce conformity to norms.
Positive Sanctions- Rewards of behavior.
Negative Sanctions- Punishment for behavior.
Formal Sanction- Reward or punishment given by a formal organization.
Social Control- Enforcing norms through internal or external means.
Deviance- Behaviors that violant specific social norms.
Stigma- Mark of social disgrace.
Strain Theory- The natural outgrowth of the values, norms, and structures of society.
