what major event led to a food surplus in great britain in the early 1700's? agricultural revolution.
which three major advancements took place during the agricultural revolution? crop rotation, invention of farm equitment, & improved masss breeding practice of livestock.
this event in the mid-1700s marked the decline in the need for hand (muscle) power and increased the demand for machine power, thus creating factories? the industrial revolution.
what was the building where factory workers lived? tenements
how many factory workers lived together in one home? 30 or so.
what were tenemants like? very dirty, crowded, no septick.
what were the wages like in the factories? low wages, children-4, women-8, men-17.
one family house with electricity, a whole village of them right outside city. suburbanization
included all of the stores or places that sold things to citizens like the black market. buisness district
some of these were "when you worked for a factory as children and lived in it you were fed very little, the conditions were brutal. some even died from the conditions. they weren't paid, they worked all day and ate once a day." negative consequences of the industrial revolution.
an example of this is "they invented/discovered machines to do things faster than man so it would be easier to make for others and themselves." positive consequences of the industrial revolution.
it was nice, had sunlight. very clean. suburban conditions
this included prohibiting britain from trade unions, and colective barganding. combination laws.
when people made groups to revolt against the government. rise of unions.
when the middle and upper class decided to not live within the city because it wasn't good enough for them. rise of suburbanization.
women and children being forced to work in factories. women and child labor
it was very poor, dirty, filthy and stuffy. factory conditions.
this was beacause infants worked in factories and had little food. their bodies did not reach what was needed for them to live. reason for the decrease in infant mortality deaths.
what caused the industrial revolution? decline of cottage industry.
when people got electricity and plumbing. increase of standard living.
were making to much of something and people not wanting it anymore or everyone already has it and no longer needs it, ect mass production concequences.
