Proverb A wise saying
Period A division of time that is shorter than an era

Exile forced absence from one's home or country
Survive to continue to live or to live through a dangerous event
Synagogue a Jewish house of worship
Sabbath a weekly day of worship and rest that is from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown
Scroll A long document made up of parchment sewn together
Tradition A custom or a way of life passed down from generation to generation
Communicate Echange knowledge or information
Community A group of people with common interests living in an area
Kosher prepared according to the Jewish dietary law; must be inspected, salted, and soaked in water
Diaspora the group of Jews living outside of the Jewish homeland
Version a different form or edition or a translation of the Bible
