Why was there unrest in Judea after it came under Roman Rule? groups of Jews rebelled against Roman control several times
How did the Roman prefect rule Judea? he kept order and made sure Judea paid money to Rome. social affairs were left to the public
What are the gospels? accounts of Jesus' life and teachings written by his four followers
Who wrote the gospels, and when did they write them? Matthew, mark, Luke, and John. 30-70 years after Jesus died
Where was Jesus born? in bethlehem in manger in stable
What did Jesus study as a child? Jewish law, religious writing, carpentry
Why was Jesus' baptism a turning point in his life? John the Baptist said he was Messiah.
What were the two most important laws? love God w/ all heart +soul, love neighbor as you love yourself.
Why did Jesus' teachings upset some people? Jesus not teaching jewish traditions, threat- stir up trouble.
