cabinet is a group of people of presidential advisers that include the heads of the 15 top level
federal bureaucracy employees of the executive branch
independent agency they are not part of the cabinet
government corporation a business owed and operated by the federal government
political appointee people whom the president has chosen because they have proven executive ability
civil service worker about 90 percent of all government employees
civil service system the practice of hiring government workers on the basis of open competitive
spoils system rewarding people with government jobs on the basis of their political support
