Oasis Characteristics Fresh water underground, varies from acres to huge landmarks, make fertile plant life,nomads dug holes for plants, main resource is the date palm tree
Coastal Plain Characteristics 5-40 miles inland, lots of rocky cliffs, air is moist, rain falls regularly. Built deep wells and dams, canals, and saved food.
Mountain Characteristics Lost of grain, cool temperatures, frost may form, people mountain dwell, lived in mud brick houses, and built terraces to make flat ground.

Why was Mecca an important religious center? It had the Ka'aba

Why did towns in the Arabian peninsula become larger cities because of the items they traded, the sea ports and markets.
Nomad A person who wanders from place to place; has no real home
Bedouins nomads from the Arabian Peninsula
Clan A group of people that fight and travel together.
Caravan A group who travel and trade together
Ka'aba A religious place where people go to pray to Allah and their gods and Muhammad.
