Who was Augustus? Augustus was Rome's first emperor. He ruled from 27 B.C to A.D 14
What was the Pax Romana? The Pax Romana is a 200 year period of peace and prosperity.
What was the language of Rome? What languages from this language? The language of Rome was Latin. Languages like Spanish,French, and more were influenced by Latin. English root words came from Latin.
How was the declaration of Independence influenced by Roman ideas about governement? The declaration of Independence was influenced by Roman ideas about government by using the ideas of natural law and natural rights.
How was the U.S legal system copied Roman laws? Romans wrote the laws in the 12 tables. like the Romans we expect our judges to decide cases fairly, and consider a person innocent until proven guilty.
How was Rome a republic? The citizens would choose their representatives to make laws for them.
What is Ancient Roman engineering famous for? (2 or more things) The Romans were famous for aqueducts, bridges and roads that covered 50,000 miles.
What civilazation greatly influnced Roman art and architecture? The Greeks influenced Roman art and architecture.
What was the effect of the Roman Empire on Christianity? It helped the new religion to grow and spread. It started in the A.D 300's
What led to the decline of Rome("gsem" with examples) Governement Problems: the romans had many problems including poor leadership and corrupiton they were wasting too much money on parties. Social problems: lack of schooling and slavery. Econimic Problems: Taxes, roads, bridges, and inflation
