QuestionAnswer
Indo-Europeans- -a group of semi-nomadic people who migrated from southern Russia to the Indian subcontinent around 1700 BC.
Rosetta stone- -a granite stone found in 1799 that bears an inscription in hieroglyphics, demotic characters, and Greek; gave the first clue to deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphics.
Polis- -a city-state of ancient Greece.
Acropolis- -a walled, high area surrounding a polis.
argora- -an open area that served as a meeting place and market in early Greek city-state.
helots- -in ancient Greece, state slaves.
hoplites- -foot soldiers in ancient Greece.
