| Cranial | brain, pituitary gland |
| Thoracic (two sections) | lungs, heart, esophagus, trachea, bronchial tubes, thymus gland, aorta |
| Thoracic- Pleural Cavity | space surrounding each lung |
| Thoracic- Mediastinum | space outside of and in between the lungs (heart, aorta, trachea, esophagus, thymus gland. bronchial tubes, lymph nodes (many) |
| Abdominal | kidneys, stomach, sm/lg intestines, spleen, pancreas, liver, gallbladder |
| Pelvic | portions of sm/lg intestines, rectum, urinary bladder, urethra, ureters (uterus and vagina for females) |
| Spinal | nerves of spinal cord |
