| Root | Basic meaning of the term. Some have 1 root or more |
| Combining Vowels | is used to combine a Root to a Root or Suffix |
| Combining Form | Root plus a combining vowel. Most of the time the vowel is "O" |
| Suffix | Adds a meaning to the end of a word |
| Prefix | Adds meaning to begining of a word * if Suffix begins in a vowel we don't need a combining vowel |
