Hypaesthesia | Atypical decrease in sensitivity |
Hyperaesthesia | Increased sensitivity to touch |
Neuro/neurapraxia | Mild trauma causing local demyelination and temporary loss of function which will recover in days or weeks |
Neurotmesis | Whole nerve axon severed. Total loss of function requiring surgical repair. |
Pare/paraesthesia | Altered sensation such as pins and needles, pricking or burning |
Proprioception | Ability to detect position of body parts |
