| Diabetes insipidus (watery urine) | Body fails to produce ADH and excess water is released by kidneys |
| Pituitary Dwarfism | Body does not produce enough growth hormone (GH) causing a person to have smaller body characteristics |
| Gigantism | Body produces too much growth hormone (GH) leading to larger than normal body characteristics |
| Acromegaly | Production of excessive growth hormone (GH) during adulthood, leads to an increase in size of bones in the face, fingers, and toes. |
| Simple/endemic goiter | Swelling of the thyroid gland due to a lack of iodine in the diet. The gland swell in the neck. |
| Congenital hypothyroidism | Improper development of the thyroid during childhood. Characterized by short and stocky body proportions |
| Myxedema | (Adult hypothyroidism) Poor thyroid development in adults leads to lethargy, weight gain, puffiness of skin, and lower body temperature. |
| Grave's Disease (Hyperthyroidism) | Caused by an overactive thyroid gland. Produces an exophthalmic goiter and people experience anxiousness, irritability, eye muscles swelling, and insomnia. |
| Hypocalcemia | Caused by a low amount of calcium in the blood and results in seizures and abnormal heart rhythms. |
| Hypercalcemia | Caused by excessive parathyroid hormone (PTH) and too much calcium in the blood. Causes muscle weakness, kidney (renal) failure, and heart failure. |
| Addison's Disease | Caused by a lack of adrenal hormones (ACTH) and results in skin bronzing, susceptibility to infection, low blood pressure, excessive loss of sodium and water from kidneys. |
| Cushing's Syndrome | Caused by hypersecretion of adrenal hormones (ACTH) and body fluids build up, chance of developing diabetes, body trunk swells. |
| Diabetes Mellitus (Type 1/Insulin dependent) | Possibly caused by virus/autoimmune disease that causes the body to fail to produce insulin. Requires daily injections of insulin. |
| Diabetes Mellitus (Type 2/Insulin independent) | Possibly caused by high sugar diets and obesity. The body does not recognize the high blood sugar levels which impacts the body's homeostasis. Can lead to heart disease, stroke , poor blood circulation, blindness, and other conditions. |
