myopia | impaired vision of distant objects, light rays focus in front of the retina, commonly known as nearsightedness |

exotropia | outward turning of the eye, known as divergent strabismus or walleyed (cross-eyed) |
nyctalopia | impaired or inadequate vision at night, known as night blindness |
exophthalmia | abnormal protrusion of the eyeball or eyeballs |
encephalitis | inflammation of the brain |
hemiplegia | paralysis of one side of the body |
otorrhea | discharge or drainage from the ear |
neuritis | inflammation of the nerve or nerves |
conjunctivitis | inflammation of the conjunctiva, known as pinkeye |
tympanoplasty | surgical repair of the tympanic membrane |
blepharoptosis | drooping of the eyelid |
diplopia | double vision, may be in one or both eyes |
cerebrovascular | relation to the blood supply to the brain, particularly with reference to pathological changes |
quadriplegia | paralysis of all four limbs, usually resulting from spinal cord injury |
presbycusis | impaired hearing related to the aging process |
audiologist | specializes in evaluating hearing potential and hearing loss |
cephalalgia | pain in head, headache |
keratitis | inflammation of the cornea |
myelogram | x-ray record of the spinal cord and spinal cavity |
otomycosis | fungal infection of the external auditory meatus (opening) |
retinopathy | any disease or disorder of the retina |
dacrycystitis | inflammation of the tear sac or lacrimal sac |
myelomalacia | abnormal softening of the spinal cord |
