| Ventricle | Two lower parts of the heart. Vessels leaving the heart emerge from them, walls are thicker than atrial walls.

| Septum | Separating wall or partition located between either left or right ventricles or atria

| Apex | Tip of the heart.

| Superior vena cava | v/ein that carries deoxygenated blood from the upper half of the body to the heart's right atrium.
