Phalen test | Have pt hold both wrists in fully palmar-flexed position with dorsal surfaces pressed together for 1 minute. Positive test: numbness and parasthesia indicates carpal tunnel syndrome

Tinel sign | Tested by striking the pt's wrist with your index finger or middle finger. Positive if a tingling sensation occurs radiating from wrist to hand and is indicative of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Thumb abduction test | Have pt place hand palm up and raise thumb up, perpendicular to it. Apply downward pressure on the thumb to assess muscle strength. Weakness is associated with carpal tunnel syndrome.

Flick test | Performed by asking the pt to use maneuver is used when the pt experiences hand pain, numbness and tingling are at their worst. Positive if pt demonstrates a flicking movement of the wrist and hand; similar to shaking a thermometer.

Hawkins test | Performed by forward flexing the shoulder to 90 degrees, flexing the elbow to 90 degrees and internally rotating the arm to it's limit. Increased shoulder pain is associated with rotator cuff tear or inflammation.

Neer test | Have pt internally rotate shoulder while examiner forward flexes arm up to 150 deg. Increased shoulder pain is associated with rotator cuff inflammation or tear.

Legs and knees | ROM: bend each knee (130 deg flexion) straighten leg and stretch it (full extension to up to 15 deg hyperextension)

Lachman's test | Diagnosis of ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) tears. Positive test palpable and visible anterior movement of the tibia-suggests rupture.

McMurray's test | Positive test: click heard and felt at the knee along with tenderness suggests meniscal tear.

Thompson's test | performed w the patient kneeling or prone w knee in flexed position. The achilles tendon is intact if the foot plantar flexes when the calf is squeezed (negative test. If there is no movement the tendon is ruptured (pos test).
