dorsal cavity   one long continuous cavity located on the back of the body (divides into 2 sections: cranial and spinal)

ventral cavities   - larger than the dorsal cavity - separated into 2 by the diaphragm - thoracic & abdominal

thoracic cavity   located in the chest and contains the esophagus, trachea, bronchi, lungs, heart, and large blood vessels

abdominal cavity   divided into an upper part and a lower part .  
🗑
upper abdominal cavity   contains the stomach, small intestine, most of the large intestine, appendix, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen.

pelvic cavity   - lower part of the abdominal cavity - contains the urinary bladder, the reproductive organs, and the last part of the large intestine

anatomical position   the body is facing forward, standing erect, legs slightly apart, and holding the arms at the sides with the palms of the hands facing forward

sagital   divided your body into right and left sides NOT HALVES

orbital cavity   for the eyes

nasal cavity   for the nose structures

buccal cavity   for the teeth and tongue
