MIDDLE STAGES OF AZHEIMERS | Persons perceptions and understandings of the world change significally. Patients personality may change and patient requires a lot of attention for safety purposes.

LATE STAGE OF ALZHEIMERS | Patient becomes physically dependent on others for all aspects of care. The person is at high risk for pressure ulcers and infections. Language skills are lost and patient becomes mute.

DELIRIUM | Change in cognition that has a rapid onset and is related to chemical changes in the body.

AMNESIA | Without memory-

APHASIA | Without speech

AGNOSIA | Without knowing- Inability to use the five senses to recognize people or things. EXAMPLE- Person can hold a key in her hand but would not be able to identify it just by feel or touch.

APRAXIA | Without doing-

EXPRESSIVE APHASIA | Inability to use language to express oneself, verbally or in writing.

||||
RECEPTIVE APHASIA | Inability to understand communication(spoken and written)from others. EXAMPLE- In a foreign country and people don't understand you.
