primary syphillis | characterized by small, painless, red pustules on the skin; highly contagious and appears within 10 days of exposure |
secondary syphillis | occurs 2 months after exposure; presents as a rash on palms of hands and soles of feet |
tertiary syphillis | may present 2-7 years later; can lead to life threatening disorders of the brain, spinal cord and heart |
gonorrhea | bacterial STD; greenish-yellow discharge; dysuria |
genital herpes | viral STD; no cure. presents as vesicles that rupture and ulcerate. |
