Muscle Movement

movements

Adduction moving a body toward the midline
Abduction moving a body part away from the midline
Flexion decreasing the angle btwn 2 bones (bending a body part)
Extension Increasing the angle btwn 2 bones (straightning)
Rotation Turning a body part around its own axis
Circumduction moving in a circle at a joint or moving one body part in a circle while the other stays staionary
Pronation turning a body part downward
Supination turning a body part upward
