Levels of Biological Organization

Anatomy the science of structure & functions of a human body.

Chemical level(2nd level) includes atoms & molicules.& its the 2nd level.
atoms smallest units of matter that oarticipates in chemical reactions.(carbon, hydrogen, oxogyn, nitrogen)
molecules 2 or more atoms joined together.(DNA, hemoglobin,glucose, vitamins)
cells the basic structural & functional units of an organism & the small living units in a human body.(muscle cells, blood cells, & nerve cells)
organells specialized structure cells contain. (nucleas, mitochondria, lysosomes)
Tissue Level(3rd level) 3rd level of structular organization.
Tissue groups of cells & the materials that are surrounding that work together to preform a particular function.(epethial tissue, connective tissue, mudsle tissue, vervous tissue)
Organ Level different kinds of tissue joined together to form body structures.
organs have a recognizable shape, composed of 2 or more different types of tissue, & have specific functions(heart, stomach, liver, lungs, brain)
serous membrane layor on the outside of the stomach that protects & reduces friction when
smooth muccles tissue layor (under Serous)churn & mix food * push it to the next digestive organ(small intestine.)
Epethail Tisssue (liner of stomach)contributes fluids & chemicals to aid digestion.
System Level consists of related organs that have a common function.(sometimes an organ is part of more then one system like the pancreas is both digestive & hormone systems.)
digesive system breaks down & abosrbs molocules in food.
organism level highest level. all the systems in the body combine to make an organism(a human body)
