Toward the head end or upper part of the body. Above Superior (cranial)
Away from the head or toward the lower part of body. Below Inferior (caudal)
Toward or at front of body; in front of Ventral (anterior)
Toward back of body; behind Dorsal (posterior)
Toward or at the midline of the body; inner side of Medial
Away from the midline of the body; outer side of Lateral
Between a more medial and lateral structure Intermediate
Closer to the origin of the body part Proximal
Farther from the origin of the body part Distal
