Regents Amendments
A review of the Amendments included in the NYS Regents

| 1st Amendment | Freedom of religion, speech, press, petition, assembly |
| 2nd Amendment | Right to bear arms |
| 4th Amendment | Protection from unreasonable search and seizure |
| 5th Amendment | Rights of the accused. No trial twice for the same offense. |
| 6th Amendment | Right to a speedy trial, to a jury, to know the charges against you, and to face witnesses against you. |
| 7th Amendment | Trial by a jury |
| 8th Amendment | No excessive bail or fines. No cruel or unusual punishment |
| 13th Amendment | Abolished slavery |
| 14th Amendment | Equal protection and due process for all citizens. Everyone born in the US is a citizen. Bill of Rights now applies to the states |
| 15th Amendment | African American men can vote |
| 16th Amendment | Direct collection of income tax |
| 17th Amendment | Direct election of Senators |
| 18th Amendment | Prohibition |
| 19th Amendment | Women get the right to vote |
| 21st Amendment | Repealed prohibition |
| 26th Amendment | Set voting age at 18 |
