Democracy Supreme political authority rests with the people. Power to the people.
Dictatorship Ruled by one ruler. Stalin
Parliamentary Government The executive is made up of the prime minister or premier, and that official's cabinet. Elected by the legislators.
Federal Government The national government of a federated state.
Sovereignty The state is independent.
Popular Sovereignty The power given to the people to abide over the government. Found in the Preamble.
