describe the tunics of an artery interna: endothelium & connective tissue, seperated by internal elastic lamina externa: collagen & elasticx fibers, innervated, nourished by capillaries called the vasa vasorum media: smooth muscle, thickest tunic, seperated by external elastic lamina
how are deep tunics nourished? by blood that passes through the lumen
describe the contractility of arteries sympathetic fibers innervate the tunica media... increased stimulation -> vasoconstriction, decreased stimulation -> vasodilation
