Supreme Court The highest court of the U.S.

Scrutiny Close examination.
Amendment A change made by correction, addition, or deletion.
Analysis Breaking something into its smaller pieces.
Implicit Potentially contained, although not plainly expressed.
Civil Rights Rights to personal liberty that help you gain full legal, social, and economic equality.
Abridge To reduce or lessen in duration, scope, authority, etc.; diminish; curtail.
Clause A distinct article or provision in a contract, treaty, will, or other formal or legal written document.
Legitimate In accordance with established rules, principles, or standards.
Constitution The way in which a thing is composed or made up.
Prohibit To forbid by authority of law.
Explicit Clearly expressed, complete in formulation, expressed without vagueness.
Government The form or system of rule by which a state, community, etc., is governed.
Alienate To cause or to choose to be withdrawn.
Rational Decisions based on sound or reasoned judgement.
Principle A fundamental, primary, or general law or truth from which others are derived.
