What is enumeration? an official count, such as a census
What is impeachment? the process of accusing a public official of wrongdoing
What is pro tempore mean? for the time being
What is indictment? a written statement issued by a grand jury charging a person with a crime
What is a quorum? the minimum number of members that must be present for official buissness to take place
What is revenue? income a government collects to cover expenses
What is naturalization? a way to give full citizenship to a person of foreign birth
what are tribunals? courts
What are felonies? serious crimes
What is appropriation? public funds set aside for a specific purpose
What is a militia? an emergency military force, such as the National Guard, that is not part of the regular army
What is a bill of attainder? a law that condemns a person without a trial in court
What is the ex post facto law? a law that would make an act a criminal offense after it was committed
What is tender? money
Who is a natural born citizen? a citizen born in the United States or the U.S. commonwealth, or to parents who are U.S. citizens living outside the country
What is affirmation? a statement declaring that something is true
What are reprieves? delays or cancellations of punishment
What does convene mean? call together
What are misdemeanors? violations of the law
What are inferior courts? courts with less authority than the Supreme Court
What does appellate mean? having power to review court decisions
What are immunities? legal protections
What is suffrage? right to vote
What is extradation? persons charged with serious crimes who cannnot escape punishment by fleeing to another state
What is ratification? official approval
What is unanimous consent? complete agreement
What are the qualifications and terms for a representative for the House of Representatives? minimum age- 25+ / citizenship- 7 yrs+ / residency- inhabitant of the state at time of election / term- 2 yrs / term limit- none
What are the qualifications and terms for a senator for the Senate? minimum age- 30+ / citizenship- 9+ / residency- inhabitant of the state at the time of election / term- 6 yrs / term limit- none

How does a bill become a law? 1. house presents bill 2. each house chooses to rewrite or kill the bill 3. each house votes on their version of the bill 4. house and senate committees work out compromise 5. both houses pass it 6. president votes 7. 2/3 vote pass bill if prez vetos!LAW!
