Every tissue that is supplied by BL vessels has lymph vessels except: 1.Brain. 2.Placenta.
Reasons for lymph node enlargement? 1.Infection. 2.Inflammation. 3.Malignancy.
Malignant lymph node 1.Non-tender. 2.Firmly fixed. 3.asymmetrical. 4.Size varies. 5.cool.
Swollen nodes: Sore throat Cervical nodes
Swollen nodes: Dental abscess Submental nodes
Swollen nodes: Breast cancer axillary nodes
Swollen nodes:Abdomenal/thoracic cancer Supraclavicular nodes
Swollen nodes: STD Inguinal nodes
Swollen nodes: Generalized HIV
Lymphoma malignant neoplasm (mass) of lymphatic system
Lymphangitis Inflammation of one or more lymph vessel. **Pt will also have painful red streaks on the skin
Lymphedema Swelling due to excress accumulation of lymph fluid from an obstruction
Correct palpation of lymph nodes circular motion from light to deep with 3-5th digits.
