What is Urination? the FORMATION of Urine
What are the steps in Urination? 1. Glomerular Filtration; 2. Tubular Secretion; 3. Tubular Reabsorption
What is happening during Glomerular Filtration? Water and Solutes are being squeezed out of Glomerular Capillaries
What is happening during Tubular Secretion? Solutes are ADDED to Urine/filtrate
What is happening during Tubular Reabsorption? substances are taken OUT of the Urine and RETURNED to the body via Peritubular Capillaries (ie - Glucose)
What is the flow of Urine? Collecting Ducts --> MINOR Calyces --> MAJOR Calyces --> Renal Pelvis --> Ureters --> Urinary Bladder --> Urethra
