How many Lobar Bronchi are there? 5 - 2 on LEFT, 3 on RIGHT
What is the function of the Bronchi? to MOVE AIR in/out of the Lungs
How many types of Bronchioles are there? 2 - 1. Terminal Bronchioles; 2. Respiratory Bronchioles
What is the composition of the Terminal Bronchioles? Cartilage replaced by Smooth Muscle, Simple Cuboidal Epithelium
What is the composition of the Respiratory Bronchioles? Simple Cuboidal Epithelium - NO Cilia or Goblet Cells
Where are the Respiratory Bronchioles located? between the Terminal Bronchioles and Alveoli
Why do Alveoli and Respiratory Bronchioles have thin walls? to allow for Gas Exchange (O2 and CO2)
What is the composition of the Alveoli? Simple Squamous Epithelium ONLY, surrounded by Capillary Network
What Cells live within the Alveoli? Macrophages
What function do Macrophages serve in the Alveoli? clean Microbes, filter Smoke
