HEENT nose drops

QuestionAnswer
Blow nose gently and clean outside area of nostrils with a damp tissue
Wash hands with soap and warm water. Dry Thoroughly
If a suspension, shake contained before removing dropper.
Tilt head back, lie on back, or hang head over the edge of a bed
Avoid touching dropper tip to nose
Place the prescribed number of drops into nostril. DO NOT INHALE
Remain in position for a few minutes
Wipe nose if medication leaks out of nostril and wash hands with soap and warm water
Clean dropper with warm, soapy water prior to re-entering or sealing container if dropper becomes contaminated
