Supraspinatus function abduction of the arm at the shoulder. only effective during the first 80 degrees of abduction
Infraspinatus function external rotation of the arm at the shoulder
Teres Minor function external rotation of the arm at the shoulder
Subscapularis function internal rotation of the arm at the shoulder
Deltoid function flexion and internal rotation (anterior head), abduction (middle head), extension and hyperextension and external rotation (posterior head)
Pectoralis mjr. function flexion and internal rotation (clavicular head), horizontal adduction and internal rotation (sternal head), flexion from a hyperextended position and internal rotation (abdominal head) of the arm at the shoulder
Subclavius function unknown, may help to draw clavicle anteriorly
Biceps brachii function flexion of the arm at the shoulder, flexion of the forearm at the elbow when the wrist is supinated
Coracobrachialis function flexion and horizontal adduction of the arm at the shoulder
Brachialis- function Flesion of the forearm at the elbow in all wrist positions
Triceps brachii- function extension and hyperextension of the arm at the shoulder (long head only), extension of the forearm at the elbow (long, lateral and medial heads)
Anconeus- function extension of the forearm at the elbow
Brachioradialis- function flexion of the forearm at the elbow in all wrists positions, although the muscle favors a semiprone wrist position (hammerfist)
Pronator teres- function pronation and flexion of the forearm at the elbow
flexor carpi radialis- function flexion of the forearm at the elbow, flexion of the hand at the wrist, radial deviation of the hand at the wrist
Palmaris longus- function tightens the flexor retinaculum and subsequently the palmar aponeurosis
Flexor digitorum superficialis- function flexion of the forearm at the elbow, flexion of the hand at the wrist, flexion of the digits
Flexor carpi ulnaris- function flexion of the forearm at the elbow, flexion of the hand at the wrist, ulnar deviation of the hand at the wrist
Flexor degitorum profundus- function Flexion of the hand at the wrist and flexion of the digits (from the distal phalanges)
flexor pollicus longus- function flexion of the hand at the wrist, flexion of the thumb
pronator quadratus-function pronation
extensor carpi radialis brevis and longus- function extension of the forearm at the elbow, extension of the hand at the wrist, radial deviation of the hand at the wrist
Extensor digitorum- function extension of the forearm at the elbow, extenstion of the hand at the wrist, extension of the digits
Extensor digiti minimi- function extension of the 5th digit

Abductor pollicus longus- function radial deviation of hte hand at the wrist, abduction of the thumb
Extensor pollicus brevis- function radial deviation of the hand at the wrist, extension of the thumb
Extenror pollicus longus- function radial deviation of the hand at the wrist, extension of the thumb
Supinator- function supinates
Palmaris brevis- function tightens the flexor retinaculum and subsequently the palmar aponeurosis
Abductor pollicus brevis- function abduction of the thumb
Flexor Pollicus brevis- function flexion of the thumb
abductor digiti minimi- function abduction of the 5th digit
flexor digiti minimi- function flexion of the 5th digit

dductor pollicus- function adductino of the thumb
lumbricals- function flexion of the metacarpals and simultaneously extension/hyperextnesion of the digits
Dorsal/palmar interosseous- function adduction ofhte all of the digits (palmar interosseous) and abduction of all of the digits (dorsal interosseous)
