| edema | the retention of fluids in the tissue resulting in swelling |
| erythema | reddening of the skin caused by dilation of superfical blood vessels in the skin |
| exudate | a discharge product by the bodys tissue |
| long arm cast | a cast that extends from the axilla to the fingers of the hand usually with a bendin the elbow |
| long leg cast | a cast that extends from the midthigh to the toes |
| maceration | the softening and breaking down of the skin as a result of prolonged exposure to moisture |
| orthopedist | a physician whos specialized int he diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system which includes the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscular, and nerves |
