| Concurrent Powers | Powers that the federal and state governments exercise together or share. |
| Constitutionalism | Basic principal that government and those who govern must obey the law. |
| Delegated Powers | Also called Enumerated Powers, are those powers expressed, implied or inherent, granted to the national government. |
| Enumerated Powers | Congress may exercise the powers to which it is granted by the Constitution |
| Exclusive Powers | Those powers that can be exercised by the national government ALONE. |
| Federalism | System of government that divides power between federal, state, and regional governments. |
| Implied Powers | Constitutional powers which, while not stated, are seemed to be implied by powers expressly stated. |
| Interstate Compact | Formal agreement between States with the consent of Congress. |
| Reserved Powers | Powers that the Constitution neither grants to the federal government nor denies to the States. |
