Bio Cells 11
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Chromatin Chromosomes | thick ropy strands in the nucleus |
| Nucleus | headquarters of the cell meaning controls all cell activity. surrounded by nuclear membrane |
| Nucleolus | the solid spot in the nucleus; knots of chromatin |
| Cell Membrane | ALL cells have this and it regulates what leaves and enters the cell and made out of lipids with proteins throughout |
| Mitochondria | it is called the powerhouse of cells where respiration occurs (energy to food) |
| Rough Endoplamic reticulum | has ribosomes attatched to it. |
| Smooth Endo. Plasmic | no ribosomes on it. makes a maze path between cell membrane and nucelar membrane and thorughout the cell. |
| Golgi Body | Post office of the cell job is to package cells |
| Ribosomes | tiny balls of RNA whose job is to manufacture protein for the cell |
| Lysosomes | contain powerful digestive enzymes used to dissolve bacteria and other invaders can digest awhile cell known as autolysis |
| PEroxisomes | contain enzyme catalase |
| Cyto Plasm | jellylike material made mostly out of water as well as salt dissolved gasses and nutrients |
| Cytoskeleton | give support to the cell and can more organelles around the cell. |
| Chloroplast | green organelles that use the light to manufacture food molecules |
| Cell Wall | specialty structures and found surrounding a cell |
| Vacuole | a place to store water and waste and is usually the largest organelle in a plant |
| Centrioles | used in cell division but only in animal cells |
