How old does a person need to be to become presidet? 35 years old,
How old does a person need to be to become a member of the senate. 30 years old
How old does a person need to be to become a representative? 25 years old
What are implied powers and what clause allows them. Implied powers are power that are not specifically stated in the constitution but but extentsion of powers that are. The Elastic Clause.
What are concurrent powers? Powers given to the federal and state governments. An example is the power to tax.
What are exclusive powers? Powers given to the federal government only.
What are reserved powers? Powers given to the states only.
What is a filibuster and how can it be stopped? A filibuster is when someone on the floor in the Senate talkes nonstop is prevent a law from being passed. They are stopped by a cloture and a 3/5 vote.
What is a quorum? The amount of people needed to conduct business. 51 im the Senate and 218 in House.
What is a grand jury. The jury that decides if there is enough evidence to have a trail.
What does the 5th amendment do? The right from self-incrimination.
What is original jurisdicion and which courts haveit? The right to heard a case first. District courts and the supreme court have oringial jurisdiction.
what is appellate jurisdiction and which courts have it? The right to hear a case sencond. Appellate courts and the supreme courts have appellate jurisdiction.
What is a rider? It is a bill that is attached to another bill to get it passed.
