Projection sensation seems to come from area where receptors are stimulated
Intensity feeling sensations more distinctly (strong) & greater degree
Contrast exaggeration or diminish in current sensation when compared with previous sensations
Adaptation becoming unaware of continuous stimuli
After image sensation remains even after stimuli is gone (phantom pain)
Receptors detect changes (stimuli) & generate electrical nerve impulses
Sensory neurons transmit impulses from receptors to CNS
Sensory tracts white matter in spinal cord or brain that transmits impulse to specific part of brain
Sensory area most are in cerebral cortex & interprets impulses
