erythroblastosis fetalis hemolytic disease in the newborn caused by a blood group (Rh factor) incompatibility between the mother and the fetus.
hyaline membrane disease acute lung disease commonly seen in the premature newborn (RDS respiratory distress syndrome caused by deficiency of surfactant)
