My Civics and Economics cards.

QuestionAnswer
What were the short term causes of the American Revolution? Proclamation of 1763, Stamp Act, Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party, Intolerable Acts, and the Battle of Lexington and Concord.
What was the Stamp Act? An act that required colonists to pay for a stamp to be placed on all newspapers or legal documents.
What was the Boston Massacre? An angry mob of colonists harassed a British guard resulting in 5 deaths of "innocent bystanders".
What was the Boston Tea Party? American Colonists protested tea taxes by dressing up as Indians and dumping tea from the East India Company into Boston Harbor.
What were the Intolerable Acts? A series of acts meant to punish Boston colonists for the Tea Party. They shut down Boston Harbor, enforced the Quartering Act, and imposed military rule.
